Jul. 28, 2007 - How sweet it is!

I once read that in Europe when a man sees a beautiful woman they say, "How salty!" Not "How sweet" as we would say in the US.

Sweet, sweet, sweet. Sweet has taken over everything! Last week I was in a grocery store cosmetic department and almost all the hand lotions, bath products, and colognes were scented with something sweet: mango, strawberry, cherry pie, vanilla. Why would anyone want to smell like vanilla or cherry pie???? Have we become so addicted to sweet that we now want to smell like it? Of course I have never found anyone who thinks my scratch and sniff garlic earrings are nice, or even funny.

In the 1950s and 1960s a dozen medium muffins called for 2 or 3 tablespoons of sugar. Today a recipe that makes a dozen muffins calls for a cup or cup and a half of sugar. There are 16 tablespoons in a one cup measure, that is a huge increase in our sugar consumption and desire.

How sweet is this? It's bad, really bad. Read why in my new book: The Anger Cure: A Step-by-Step Plan for Reducing Anger, Rage, Negativity, Violence, and Depression in Your Life. TheCarrotLady

Jul. 14, 2006 - Books, writing is so much work

Well, things are going really great here in Salt Lake City. I'm working really hard on my second book in six months. This book is a rewrite of a book that was published in 1999, so all I'm doing is updating nutrition information. There is so much new information in nutrition being published these days. How fabulous it is to see medical journals publishing information on the health benefits of foods and nutritional supplements. There are so many foods that are healthful like blueberries, raspberries, and olive oil and olive leaf extract that are getting articles and trials done to show how healthful they are. I can't even think of a real food that isn't healthful. So if we try to eat only whole foods, organically grown foods, we should be the healthiest people in the world. That's what I'm aiming for: health to all.

It's really slow going getting funding for the HIV/AIDS project in Nigeria I've been working on. We expect to go there and reduce poverty with a skills testing and training program as well as set up nutrition information programs and use three of my four supplements to overcome malaria, HIV/AIDS, and other health problems. We're working on partnering with a university to develop a functional food that will destroy the virus and build muscle and strength. Any leads of funding sources will be greatly appreciated.

In health, Kathleen

Feb. 2, 2006 - Change, change, change

So much has changed for me in the last few months, I hardly know where to begin.First I moved to Salt Lake City the end of November. For the first three weeks all I did was write a book.

I first  submitted it to the publisher in December 2002, but didn't like what the editor wanted to do with it so I cancelled the contract. (He wanted to re-write every single sentence. I kept asking him how many books he had actually written and why he didn't write his own instead of trying to make mine into his book.) Last March I met with the publisher, Basic Health, and he expressed a desire for doing the book. So we signed a contract and I had a deadline of December, which he extended to the end of December.

So for three weeks I read and re-read the manuscript, did current research, and edited and updated the manuscript. During that time I read two books on spiritual praactices and endless health food trade magazines. How crazy is it to write eight to ten hours a day and then read during the rest of the time??? In Canada we called that "a busman's holiday."

It is just fabulous here in Salt Lake City. I have met so many new people, interesting people, spiritual people, Pagans, Wiccans, Latter Day Saints, health food practitioners, holistic healers, and many who claim that I am some great "spiritual teacher" or "energy healer." Must be the orange clothes I wear!

The labels for my four nutritional supplements are ready and I am selling them even before the web page is up. But that is what I'm working on now, the web page. Oh, and I am teaching classes on nutrition here, too.

My most important project is to remove the calcification on my aorta. So I am clearing past things (does it ever end?), doing supplements, and now using the Planetary Chakra Heart Oils that Howla Jardali has formulated. She is a fabulous alchemist and healer who has formulated oil blends that work with the chakras and  the seasons. For six months I worked with the blend for Saturn based on my Saturday birthday and that is the first chakra. Now I am working on the heart valve using Mercury blend. You can see what your chakra/oil blend is at her web site: www.planetarychakra.com. The Saturn blend was so fabulous for me, I wouldn't have been able to do this new business without it. I feel so strong and in charge of myself, it is most wonderful.

My best friend in Carson City asked me to come there and share his house while he was waiting for "spirit" to give him his new instructions. Little did I know that he was wanting to die! Well, I put him on some supplements and whole foods, went places with him and laughed and had fun and he lived another year, spreading his new-found joy and love. He taught the Ascended Masters for years, but found a new spiritual group that had been going since the time of Jesus or before and felt so attracted to it,  just knew he had been one, said I was a member as well. This brought him such peace, he up and died. He finally found out why he was here and what he was meant to do. I miss him, but know he is truly fulfilling his destiny. So that left me free to move to Salt Lake City and work with my business partner on this new venture.

We are also in the process of seaking funding for a huge education project in Nigeria to help reverse the HIV/AIDS pandemic there using lifestyle education, nutrition, and a supplement that has shown in trials to reduce the viral load 78% in a month. And it's all herbal.

If you think I have no time for a life, you are wrong! If you think I have no time for a relationship, you are correct. Not that I don't have the time, just don't have the person in my life. So, you ask, how can I write about love and not be in a loving relationship? Well, you have to start somewhere. Originally the Anger Cure was called The Love Diet, so I have been doing research, diets, herbs, supplements, meditations, love drawing stones, and all kinds of preparations for now. Now I am ready for love in my life. I'll let you know what happens next.

Nov. 16, 2005 - Never too Late!

If you are looking well into the second half of your life, you might be thinking that it is too late to improve your health by changing the way you eat. Nothing could be further from the truth. As a senior myself, I can assure you, it is never too late to adopt a whole-foods way of eating.

I promise you will quickly feel the benefits of eliminating processed, barely nutritious foods and replacing them with vital, living, whole food. Complaints you might have come to accept as a normal part of aging disappear, including the following: heartburn and acid reflux, high blood pressure, diabetes, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, prostate problems, menopause symptoms, and low blood sugar.

Incorporate a whole-foods diet into your lifestyle and feel fabulous!
