Anomalocaris, weird shrimp. Laggania, weird sponge. - 4:20 PM, Mar. 27, 2006 |
Stars of Dinosounds: Anomalocaris and Laggania were like the sharks of the Cambrian seas. My friend and colleague, Dr. Michael Vendrasco, found a jaw from Anomalocaris when looking for trilobites in California. He wasn’t sure what it was at first. When he showed me the specimen, I recognized it immediately. The jaw was four times the size of the trilobites he was finding, and there was no other creature so big. To view the paintings in the Dinosounds book, go to the gallery - http://dinosounds.com/dino_gallery.html To view the real fossils of Anomalocaris, I suggest this link – http://www.trilobites.info/background.html "Dino-guy" Ron Schmidtling |
